What is dumps in mineralogy ?
Dumps : definition
The term “dumps” designates a site for storing and depositing operating waste generated by a mining activity. Free waste rock, made up of host rocks and stripping, and tailings made up of poor, untreated ores and weakly mineralized rocks are deposited there. Treatment rejects, which are larger in modern operations, are generally stored in waste rock dikes. These areas are generally excavated by mineralogists in search of crystals.
