A fenite is a metasomatic rock formed in the contact metamorphism halo of carbonatite intrusions. It is a very sodic rock with a syenite composition, with orthoclase and anorthoclase (70 to 90%), aegyrine (15 to 25%), riebeckite, frequent feldspathoids (nepheline, cancrinite, sodalite) and minerals of titanium, fluorine, chlorine (titanite, apatite, etc ...).
