What is a granitoid in geology ?
Granitoid : definition
Granitoid is a generic term grouping together all granites (alkaline, calc-alkaline and monzonitic) and granodiorites. Some authors sometimes add chemically similar rocks such as syenites, tonalites and monzonites : in this case the term granitoid includes almost all supersaturated and saturated plutonic rocks with alkaline feldspars.
