What does stratiform mean in geology ?

In gitology, this term is used to designate ore bodies conformable or globally conformable with the stratification. They may be perfectly regular bedded bodies conforming to the stratification, or bulging lenses, roughly parallel to the strata. The "stratiforms" are thus opposed to the veins, structures mostly straightened and secant to the stratification.
