What is a theralite in geology ?
Theralite : definition
Theralite is an undersaturated plutonic rock of dark hue with plagioclase (andesine, labrador), feldspathoid (nepheline, analcime, rarely leucite), augite, brown amphibole, biotite and frequently olivine. As with most undersaturated rocks, the varieties are based on the nature of the feldspathoids.
Theralites are scarce rocks, present in complex sets with gabbros or carbonatites. The volcanic equivalent of theralite and basanite.
